Bulk Entry Management

A few quality-of-life improvements around managing entries and submissions, plus some behind-the-scenes hardening.

  • Bulk entry management. Select multiple entries at once and delete them in a single action, instead of one at a time.
  • Clearer feedback on submission approval issues. If a public submission can't be approved into an entry, for example because the event has hit its entry limit, the app now shows an explicit message instead of appearing unresponsive.
  • A heads-up before generating an entry form link at the limit. "Generate Entry Form Link" now warns you upfront if your event is already at its entry limit, instead of handing you a link that can't accept new entries.
  • Fixed: repeated warning notifications stacking up when clicking "Add Entry" multiple times while at your entry limit.
  • Security & reliability. Strengthened server-side enforcement of event, entry, and submission limits, and improved cleanup reliability when deleting events or accounts so associated data is removed more completely.

Search Keywords & a Smarter Live Leaderboard

This update makes entries more flexible, search more useful, the live leaderboard actually feel live, and the voting experience a bit smoother and more polished, on custom themes and mobile alike.

  • Entry name is now optional. An entry just needs something filled in, whether that's a name, indicator, description, image, custom field, or search keywords, so entries that don't need a formal name aren't forced to have one.
  • New: Search Keywords. Tag an entry with extra words voters might search for that don't appear anywhere else on it, a nickname, character, theme, or inside joke. Keywords are entered as removable chips, are entirely optional, and are never shown publicly, they only widen what the vote page's search box matches.
  • Better search on the vote page. Search now matches against an entry's name, indicator, description, custom field, and search keywords, previously it missed descriptions and keywords entirely.
  • The live leaderboard actually stays live. The public leaderboard (Top 3 Only and Full Live Leaderboard plans) now refreshes itself automatically about every 15 seconds while it's open, instead of only updating on a full page reload. It's also now shown on the "Votes Submitted!" and "You've Already Voted" screens, so voters who just cast a vote can actually see it.
  • A calmer confirmation screen. After casting a vote, the live leaderboard now settles in a moment after the confirmation message, instead of everything appearing at once, a small pacing touch that makes the moment feel less rushed.
  • Clearer transitions between categories. For events with multiple categories, voters now see a quick "Next Category" screen between categories, so it's obvious you've moved on to a new one.
  • A better "Add Existing Entries" dialog. Entries without a name now fall back to showing their indicator, description, or custom field instead of a blank line, entries are sorted by indicator order, and the indicator now displays as a proper badge.
  • Custom theme polish (Pro). Custom-branded voting pages now carry their background color into the mobile browser chrome itself, on iOS, the address bar and bottom edge now match your page's colors instead of a mismatched default dark tone. Also fixed the leaderboard callout box and vote-submission bar on custom-themed pages not fully picking up your chosen theme colors.
  • Mobile fixes: the plan/tier selection dialog no longer jumps position on open, scrolling past the event-type cards no longer leaves a lingering highlight on the wrong option, uploaded/cropped images no longer overflow their preview box, and small floating "Add Entry" and "Go Live" buttons now follow you while scrolling the Entries tab.
  • Fixed: a Pro organizer's custom voting-page theme now applies consistently to the category filter pills, the trophy/award banner, and the "Close Tab" button on post-vote screens. Also fixed a blank/broken-looking line for entries with a missing name, an awkward gap under the indicator for image-only entries, a flash of outdated vote counts when switching dashboard leaderboard categories, irrelevant grid/list view icons on the vote-submitted and already-voted screens, and the "Powered by AuthTally" watermark now correctly links to authtally.com.

Custom Page Theming & Vanity Links

This update is all about making the vote page feel like your own, plus a few quality-of-life improvements along the way.

  • Custom page theming (Pro). Your voting page, your colors. Pro events can now fully customize the public voting page's accent color, page background, card background, and text color right from the event dashboard, with a live preview so you know exactly what voters will see before you save. No more one-size-fits-all purple, match your brand, your event, or your venue.
  • Custom vanity links (Pro). Set a custom, memorable link for your voting page (e.g. yoursite.com/vote/summer-gala) instead of the default auto-generated URL, fully wired up end-to-end, with the QR code and share link automatically reflecting it.
  • A better home for custom vote link settings. Vanity link and other custom vote link settings now live alongside your other voting page settings, making them easier to find and edit when you're setting things up.
  • Custom success messages (Plus & Pro). Replace the default "Thank you for voting!" message with your own personal touch, now included with Plus and Pro plans.
  • Quicker photo previews. On the Leaderboard tab, double-click any entry photo for an instant full-size view.
  • Fixed: a handful of under-the-hood polish and bug fixes to make everything run smoother.

AuthTally Beta is Live

The beta version of AuthTally is now open. If you're running a talent show, school contest, dance recital, awards ceremony, or any event where people need to vote, this is for you. Here's what's included in this first release, and a heads up on what's coming next.

Voting, made simple

  • QR code and link voting. No app to download. Voters scan a code or tap a link and they're in.
  • Flexible voter verification. Choose fully anonymous voting, a shared 6-digit event password, or email verification with a one-time code to prevent duplicate votes, whatever fits your event.
  • Scheduled voting windows. Set when voting opens and closes, and it happens automatically.
  • Mobile-friendly voting page, since most of your voters will be on their phones.

Built for real events

  • Single, multi-category, or competitor mode. Run a simple one-category contest, organize entries across multiple categories (Best Costume, Best Performance, etc.), or run a competitor-based event where one person or team has entries spanning several categories.
  • Photo support for entries, with automatic image optimization (including iPhone photos) so pages load fast for voters.
  • Public entry submission form. Let people submit their own entries for you to review and approve, instead of adding every entry yourself.

Control how results are shown

  • Private results, kept hidden until you're ready to reveal them.
  • Reveal at close, a dramatic "results are in" moment once voting ends.
  • Live results (coming to paid tiers), from a top-3 leaderboard up to a full real-time leaderboard for your biggest events.

Organizer tools

  • Notes and templates to keep yourself organized across multiple events.
  • Shareable QR codes and links, including a printable, high-resolution QR code for physical signage.
  • Full account control, including the ability to permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time.

Pricing

AuthTally starts free, no subscription required. Every account gets free events to try it out, no credit card needed. Paid, per-event upgrades (unlimited entries and live public leaderboards) are coming soon, an announcement will be posted here the moment they're available.
